Producer Spotlight: M-Phazes
M-Phazes (Mark Landon) is the perfect example of a diamond in the rough. Born and raised in the Gold Coast of Australia and relatively isolated from Hip-Hop culture, M-Phazes has carved a place for himself among Australia’s Hip-Hop elite and is undeniably responsible for putting Gold Coast Hip-Hop on the map.
His style is best described as a combination of Neo-Soul & Boom Bap with a modern twist. Drawing inspiration from producers like J Dilla, DJ Premier & Kanye West, M-Phazes has forged an original sound that is uniquely his own. As soon as the beat drops, you know it another M-Phazes classic.
With 9 years of production work under his belt and over 50 releases all over the world, M-Phazes has moved from strength to strength. Landing his first serious release on Supastition’s “Chain Letters” years ago and recently remixing the entire Bliss N Eso “Day Of The Dog” album, along with the "Remixed" album last year, M-Phazes seems unstoppable. His discography reads like a who’s who of underground US Hip-Hop and with confirmed upcoming joints alongside Royce Da 5’ 9” & (Big) Phrase.
And if that wasn't enough for you, M-Phazes recently won the Sha Money XL One Stop Shop Beat Battle in Phoenix, AZ. With many opportunities at garnering attention from legendary producers, A&R's, Managers, & other industry notables, the "Beat Battle" was the center stage for a showcase of production capabilities.
