Blame One Decides To Hang Up The Mic

From Andres Tardio @ HipHopDX.com:

Last week, Blame One decided to walk away from the music industry. The man behind this year's critically acclaimed Days Chasing Days release, has decided to leave the business after many years in the game.

"I know many of you are just now hearing about me for the first time and I thank Exile and Soulspazm for believing in the project and making that happen. I'm 34 now and a proud parent of two. I feel very content with the work I have released, especially my last two albums. I feel that its time for me to try my hand at a new venture," he said in a MySpace message to fans.

In fact, his first release came in 1998. He has four solo efforts out and some work that is rare and hard to find.

Blame One added that despite not touring much, he did want to hit the stage a few more times before it's all over.

"I never set out to rhyme to reach stardom, only for my words to be effective in reaching others. I feel that I have accomplished that. Of course others will disagree and Im perfectly fine with that now. I chose not to tour like my peers because I am a full time dad that also has a full time job. I could quit and see the world but then I would come back and still have to feed my family. I am perfectly content with that choice as well," he added. "I have two shows coming up this month which will be my last. I am going to fall back and see what the next generation has to offer on the mic. I always loved being a fan just as much as I have being in front of the crowd. I will continue to be a great fan and support those pushing the culture forward. I want to thank all of you who have supported me and my music."

He finished off thanking those who have helped him, but he also restated that he would not be collaborating with anyone, writing any raps or doing shows after this month is over.
