Jazz Liberatorz - Mountain Sunlight feat. Mos Def x What's Real feat. Aloe Blacc

I have a feeling a lot of folks (especially in the states) haven't had a chance to hear this yet so I thought I'd post a couple of my favorite tracks off the Jazz Liberatorz (DJ Damage x Dusty x Madhi) newest project Coffret, which was released earlier this year as a two-album/one-mixtape set. Check out the joints below and let us know what you think, and of course make sure to seek out and purchase this compilation if you have the opportunity!

The already six year-old vinyl discography of the Jazz Liberatorz is not due to chance. From the very beginning they collaborated with renouned musicians, thus unfolding a new musical era in which acoustic sound is blended with virtual sound. In order to assert their desire to share their music beyond French borders, the band offers listeners a previously unreleased number featuring one of US hip-hop’s top MCs, the boogie man Mos Def.

This record is absolutely essential to all quality music amators, who may enjoy it at any time of day or night. You will be thrilled to hear the Jazz Libs’ new original tracks, but also remix versions of the already well-known Drum Brothers featuring T.Love, of the famous and talented producer Dela remixing Fat Lip and of the great 20syl of Hocus Pocus remixing Mr. Dudley Perkins aka Declaime.

Mos Def - Black On Both Sides

MySpace

Black on Both Sides is the debut solo album by Mos Def, released on October 12, 1999. Intended as a return to the roots of hip hop, the album was hailed as a classic soon after its release, and went on to ship Gold in sales. The album's blend of socio-political rhymes with jazz and other unusual sources of samples endeared Mos Def to listeners uninterested in gangsta rap. This album also received 4 Mics from The Source's Five Mic Award.
