Attention Producers: Bekay - I Am Remix Contest
Rules:
Attention producers, please email all submissions to coalminerecords@gmail.com no later then Friday, November 13th. Only one submission per producer will be accepted. The files for the remix contest include an MP3 file of the original version of the song in addition to a WAV file of both the acapella and the sounds effects. Both the acapella and sound effects are zero pointed so they will synchronize properly. It’s not mandatory to use all sound effects, however, it is encouraged that you use the scratch hook, which is on the sound effects file. Music should be in an mp3 format and should default to any iTunes player. Sample-free remixes are allowed, but not required. File should be labeled accordingly with song title first, followed by the producer’s name and Remix in parenthesis, ie: I Am (Joe Smith Remix).mp3. Please include your email address in the comment field of the iTunes info panel. In your email, please provide us with your MySpace URL, your discography to date along with a bio/epk if possible. Please include a few sentences about yourself and your production background. Good luck!
Itinerary:
1.11.03 (Tuesday): Contest begins. NodFactor.com will premier the contest that will be virally promoted through other lifestyles, sites and blogs throughout the week, courtesy of Diamond Music Group. The contest will also be reinforced through an e-blastcampaign.
2.11.13 (Friday): Submission Due Date
3.11.14-15 (Sat/Sun): Winner will be selected through a judging panel consisting of the staff at NodFactor.com, Bekay & Matt Diamond of Coalmine Records.
4.11.16-20 (Mon-Fri): The winning remix will first be announced to all contestants via email. Following the announcement, NodFactor.com will premier the footage of the judging panel. Shortly after, Diamond Music Group will virally promote the vlog footage through all major hip-hop blogs & lifestyles.

Kublakai - Lights For The Dark Nights EP

In 2008 Kublakai unleashed his first solo album, The Basics. Seventeen tracks that covers a variety of topics, ranges in mood and is continuously intelligent. Once the album dropped, the critics started to rave. “Fresh… Fun… Dynamic… Entertaining… Comes out swinging… Drum conscious flow that is both urgent and conversational.” says The Stranger . His buzz steadily growing, he took his show on the road, booking the “206 degrees and rising tour” with himself and some of Seattle’s other finest hip hop acts.
In August of the same year, Kublakai, who had teamed up with other Northwest heavyweights, MC Type and Producer Captain Midnite created the group The Let Go and released their collaborative project titled Tomorrow Handles That. Together they toured the West Coast with indie Legend Louis Logic and stirred up a buzz in the hip hop community. Since then, The Let Go has toured two more times nationally and was picked up by Canada’s independent record label Camobear Records. Camobear will release their sophomore effort in 2010, tentatively titled Morning Comes. As 2008 came to a close, the buzz for Kublakai’s album was revamped through more excellent reviews, “one giant leap for Northwest Hip Hop” (performer magazine online) and a placement on Rapreviews.com’s top 10 list. The list included some of hip hop's biggest names like Atmosphere, Q-tip and Santogold. Just proof that his talent was real and his debut album was only the beginning.
Now in 2009, Kublakai releases his sophomore effort, a collaborative project with friend and producer Slouch entitled Lights for the Dark Nights.
