Intuition - Stories About Nothing

Intuition sees the world differently. He extracts humor from the mundane, locates heartache in humor, finds comfort in that heartache, and develops stress out of that same comfort. Where most would see a straight line, he tends to see a circle.

Intuition was raised in North Pole, Alaska but currently resides in Southern California; throughout his travels his love for rap music has flourished and intensified. His list of influences ranges from A Tribe Called Quest all the way to Wu Tang Clan, and in Equalibrum he found a creative partner with a similar breadth of musical vision. The heavily layered, sample-based beats found on Stories About Nothing serve as a mellifluous accompaniment to Intuition's engaging and involved narratives. The interplay is so dynamic and successful that Intuition's vocals often resemble another sample attentively placed over the harmonies by Equalibrum, while the music's groove pushes the intriguing storytelling forward.

Intuition feat. Slug - Buzzkill (Prod. by Equalibrum)

The homie Intuition decided to let loose the final leak/single off his upcoming album Girls Like Me, and this time around he enlists one of the biggest names in independent hip-hop, Slug (of Atmosphere). If a feature of this caliber still hasn't woken you up from sleeping on Intuition, then I hope this is your alarm. I've said this before, but every new track he releases is another notch better than the last and that's saying a lot since there's yet to be a track I didn't enjoy. Girls Like Me drops next week, January 26th, and will be available soon for preview via his Band Camp page so be on the lookout.

Intuition - Don't Try (Prod. by Equalibrum)

Intuition's new mixtape Girls Are Gonna Like Me was supposed to be released today but after receiving the masters of the album and hearing the two side by side, he has decided to go a different route. Intuition had this to say, "I'm going to jump right into leaking tracks from the album, and put the mixtape out AFTER the album as sort of a "best of " retrospective for people who dig the new album but haven't heard the old stuff to catch up on the back catalog." The newest leak "Don't Try", is a crossover type song which may appeal to indie hip hop fans and indie rock fans alike. It features a simple but really strong beat produced by Equalibrum with an infectious hook that gets stuck in your head. The full length album Girls Like Me is still scheduled for it's proper release date of January 26th.

Intuition - Lonely (Prod. by Equalibrum)

Check out the newest leak off the upcoming mixtape Girls Are Gonna Like Me from Intuition entitled "Lonely", which will also be included on the full-length album Girls Like Me. The song is a hilarious and clever ode to the "booty call" over a very soulful beat courtesy of Equalibrum.

Intuition - Al Bundy (Prod. by Dibiase) (Music Video)

While Intuition gears up for the release of his newest project Girls Like Me in January, he has decided to let lose the visuals for his hilarious song "Al Bundy", which I posted the audio version for sometime last week. Intuition, for good reason, has been making a lot of noise on the internets these past few weeks and I see no signs of that changing. Be on the lookout for more from Intuition over the next month as he will be releasing more material from the forthcoming LP as well as a mixtape, Girls Are Gonna Like Me.

Intuition is gearing up to drop a new mixtape at the end of the month entitled Girls Are Gonna Like Me presented by Kevin Nottingham & 2dopeboyz, which is essentially a retrospective mix of old material, new material, and previously unreleased material. The mixtape will serve as a prelude to Intuition's sophomore LP Girls Like Me being released on January 26th, which boasts a guest appearance by Slug (of Atmosphere), as well as NoCanDo of the "Low End Theory" club in L.A., and production from the ultra-dope Dibiase.

Intuition - Al Bundy (Prod. by Dibiase)

Intuition is an artist I was previously unaware of, until yesterday. Intuition is an emcee that was raised in North Pole, Alaska (of all places) but is currently residing in Southern California. His influences range from A Tribe Called Quest to Wu-Tang and is said to have a pretty dope stage show; opening for the likes of Method Man, Lupe Fiasco, Murs, Brother Ali, Living Legends, Sean Price, Sage Francis, Dilated Peoples, Rhymefest, Blackalicious, Little Brother, Busdriver, Josh Martinez, Pigeon John, Zion-I and countless others. "Intuition is a rapper. You should be his listener."
