D.Black Set To Release New Album

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, D.Black's musical roots are deep, with his mother and father both involved in pioneering hip-hop groups in the Seattle music scene. In 2006, D.Black released his debut album, The Cause & Effect, a huge regional success, allowing the emcee to share the stage with Nas, Freeway, Bun B, Clipse, Paul Wall, The Boot Camp Click, and more.

After being mentored by Vitamin D, a staple and veteran of the Seattle hip-hop scene, D.Black began making a name for himself by working on projects with producer Jake One. One such collaboration resulted in D.Black being featured on Jake One's White Van Music, on the track "God Like," helping to cement the Seattle emcee as a household name beyond the Pacific Northwest. Jake One and Vitamin D were also both instrumental in helping D.Black create his new album, offering guidance and production on the record, along with D.Black, whose own production work has been featured on projects from former G-Unit rapper Young Buck. D.Black's new album, Ali'Yah, will be available September 15 via Sportn' Life Records/MYX Music Label.

Just to give y'all some general information and what not. The mixtape is 22 tracks of epic underground flavour for your enjoyment and not only that but its going to be ABSOLUTELY 100% FREE! Thats right FREE. We understand we're in an economic situation where a lot of people cant afford to be spending money on CD's right now so Analog Architects have your needs in mind! The mixtape also has some features from non Analog Architects artists such as: Brail Optiks, M16 and also DJ 2quared who layed down some cuts for us as well. All tracks on the mixtape are original tracks produced by Poseidon's nephew the submerged genius (@quatic Son) a few tracks co-signed by Lotis Yelo.

So I know some of y'all are probably thinking: "How is this a mixtape if y'all are using all original tracks?" Well the way we see it, an album has a theme or a foundation that you work around when you arrange your songs, we had no type of theme or foundation whatsoever its basically whatever we were feeling at the time which gives the mixtape a real personal feel. It's not some "Look at me I'm shining, I'm rich I'm a baller, I'm at the club all the time gettin loose smackin bitches." type joint you would cop in the "hip hop/rap" section @ Sam Goody or hear on the Radio. This is real life and real situations. Also, we don't want to call it an album because we feel you get paid for an album and this is free. we feel that since this is our developmental LP, it has no theme, and its free what better name than Skematics? But don't get me wrong just because the LP wasn't themed doesn't mean we were just being lazy, A LOT of hard work and dedication went into this mixtape so we hope you all enjoy it.

I know we've kept y'all waiting for a while but we've had some ups downs, sideways turnarounds and any other obstacles you can think of. But we just wanted to make sure it delivered that official underground sound NEXT DAY AIR to your ear drum, ya heard! But on the real, thanks to family, friends, and all supporters of the cause. I took a long time arranging and picking out tracks and didn't just throw this together because I wanted the listener to get a unique feel to what's to come on "The Revelation Will Be Televised" Mixtape droppin' late summer/early fall. The Push Back Mixtape features my crew EMS (M-Dot, Mayhem), also artists like Grime Tha MC (of The Camp), XL (of the Kreators), my other crew the Mic Murderers, and more... Beats from Kenshin & DJ Jean Maron (who's worked with Termanology, Reks, Akrobatik, etc.), just to name a couple. DJ Murge - Search And Rescue

DJ Murge is Eclipse Record’s foremost DJ and producer. In 1989, DJ Murge lived in Vancouver B.C., where he started listening to the music that would later shape his life. Eventually he naturally became interested in creating the type music he was hearing, and began working on his first beats, and opening his recording studio Search Studios as a joint business venture with one of his close friends. This in turn led to birth of Eclipse Records in June 2001, and his first release the “Search And Rescue” compilation featuring Swollen Members, Moka Only, Buc Fifty, Abstract Rude, L.M.N.O., Son Doobie, that were to go alongside tracks featuring the likes of Living Legends, Hobo Junction, Slug, and Eyedea. Since it’s release in the summer of 2002, the album has received much praise from many corners of the globe, and has sold over 7,000 copies worldwide.

Fugees - Blunted On Reality

The Fugees translated an intriguing blend of jazz-rap, R&B, and reggae into huge success during the mid-'90s, when the trio's sophomore album The Score hit number one on the pop charts and sold over five million copies. The trio formed in the late '80s in the New Jersey area, where Lauryn Hill and Prakazrel Michel ("Pras") attended a local high school and began working together. Michel's cousin Wyclef Jean ("Clef") joined the group (then called the Tranzlator Crew), and the trio signed to Ruffhouse/Columbia in 1993. After renaming themselves the Fugees (a term of derision, short for refugees, which was usually used to describe Haitian immigrants). Though the group's debut album, Blunted on Reality, was quite solid, it reflected a prevailing gangsta stance that may have been forced by the record label.

The crew had been very busy after Almost Famous was released, people started to wonder where the solo albums were. There were so many side projects happening, so much touring going on, and demand was high…but finally after what seemed like an eternity since Gas Dream was released, Eligh was ready and completed this long awaited follow up. He’d honed his producing skills with two Gandalf albums and was making beats for just about everyone else in the crew in the time that had passed. He put a lot of thought, heart and soul into the lyrics to create the Poltergeist, which had become an entity that surfaced in his absence.

In anticipation of Tha Blaqprint dropping June 30 on DJ Premier's Year Round Records, we get a sneak peak not only at the making of the music video for the "Ain't Nuttin' Changed Remix" featuring MC Eiht and Young Malay, but also into the making of the album as described by Blaq Poet and DJ Premier themselves. Shot on the west coast, the good folks at Year Round Records give us an early look into the making of the video with behind the scenes footage of Poet, Premier, Young Malay, and MC Eiht doing what they do best. From there, we hit the studio as Premier and Poet talk up the album, giving fans a taste of what to expect, including the dope guest artists and some insight on how the project finally came together. Tha Blaqprint will be available June 30 via Year Round Records and Fat Beats Distribution.

The Roots - Illadelph Halflife

Philly never gets its props, but the City of Brotherly Love has pioneered its fair share of hip-hop innovations. Schooly D was the first gangsta rapper; DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince perfected rap comedy, and the Roots became the first rap act to put together an impressive live show without samples and sequencers. On their third album, "illadelph halflife," the Roots capture in the studio the same chemistry between rhymes and live instruments that they've generated on stage. The album does include samples, but they're samples of the band's own exploratory jam sessions in Philadelphia's legendary Sigma Sound Studios.
