DJ K.O. - Living Out A State of Mind Pt. 2 b/w Destroy

"Living Out A State of Mind Pt. 2" is the 2nd single off DJ K.O.’s upcoming EP, Living Out A State of Mind Vol. 2, which again pairs up the two original Elementality members: Silent Knight & Analogic. Picking up where Pt. 1 left off, the track continues to document the story of Elementality. Pt. 2 goes back to the days of 2005 where SK, Analogic & DJ K.O. were beginning to establish themselves in the industry.

Keeping with the traditional formatting of the vinyl days, we’ve got a "B-Side" to liberate for this new Digital 12″. While some are becoming familiar with DaveNotti as a producer, "Destroy" introduces the world to him as an emcee. He’s assisted on the boards by fellow Portland, OR resident Hi-Res. J Dilla - Make Em' NV (DaveNotti Remix + Instrumental)

It's with the green light from one of Detroit's Hip-Hop ambassadors to the World, HouseShoes, that producer DaveNotti brings a remix of "Make'em NV" by J Dilla to the masses. The track was originally released back in 2003 on Jay Dee's Ruff Draft EP and later re-released by Stones Throw in 2007.

When Elementality Productions CEO, DJ K.O., asked DaveNotti why he wanted to remix one of J Dilla's tracks he replied, "Who didn't like Ruff Draft?!?! While all the beats on it were dope enough to not need ANY remixes, I definitely wanted to take a swing at it." He continued to add, "For those wondering, this acapella was DIY'ed by yours truly."

"Just So You Know" is the lead single off DJ K.O.'s upcoming EP, Living Out A State of Mind Vol. 2. The track introduces Elementality's newest emcee, MadKem, to the world over a soulful Analogic beat.

Keeping with the traditional formating of the vinyl days, we've got a "B-Side" to liberate for this new Digital 12". "The Epidemic" again features MadKem on the mic with DaveNotti providing that grimey rawness on the boards that hip-hop heads have come to expect with B-Sides.

Back on November 10, 2009, DJ K.O. embarked on a year long campaign to release 12 EP's in 12 months. Vol. 2 is set to drop December 15th and pick up right where Vol. 1 left off. "D A M A G E" features rhymes from Elementality all-stars East & Silent Knight, with production from the super talented Dave Notti out of Portland, OR. The New Chill is a brand new EP from Portland duo Dave Notti & Hi-Res. Notti explains it, "branches off from all of us, not just Hi-Res and myself, but [our whole crew]... just wanting to be able to chill and be cool without any of the drama. We decided on The New Chill not because of a "new crew"... but rather a "new atmosphere" - change, if you will. Our new music styles are a testament to this change as we sound nothing of our former selves." Dave also went on to explain that the concept behind the EP wasn’t too complex - "just smooth beats from Tim [Res] meets NY grittyness! All the while showing versatility with the few concepts shown in the project. We wanted to give listeners something short but sweet."
