If you watched the video I posted a few days ago, then you'd already know about Black Milk's upcoming album entitled Album Of The Year. If you missed it, well now you know. "Keep Going" is the first official leak off the album and features drums by Daru Jones, and additional keyboards and background vocals by Aaron "AB" Abernathy. Album Of The Year is scheduled for release via Fat Beats Records next summer.
Black Milk gives his fans a preview of what's sure to be a big 2010 with three full length releases: Random Axe with Guilty Simpson and Sean Price, Searching for Sanity with vocalist Melanie Rutherford, and his latest solo release. Look for Album of the Year to drop in Summer 2010 on Fat Beats Records.
Burn Rubber Sneaker Boutique (www.burnrubberdetroit.com) and Acapulco Gold (www.runmygame.com) have teamed up to create the "Detroit Riots" collaborative capsule. Both companies are known for creating designs that start conversations, create debates and educate the masses all at the same time. The Detroit Riot series was inspired by the city’s Riots of 1967, that occurred as a direct result of many of the ills that are plaguing our society today like a troubled economy, high unemployment rate, police brutality, dissatisfaction with social conditions and the rapid population decline in many urban areas. The Detroit Riots series brings light to how far we’ve come as a society but also shows how close we are to repeating history if issues are not only addressed but corrected.
To commemorate this collaboration Burn Rubber and Acapulco Gold reached out to eight emcees: Ro Spit, One Be Lo, T3, Phatboy Chef, Marv Won, Buff 1, Fatt Father, and Fat Ray) out of Michigan to contribute a verse to a song produced by Black Milk and inspired by the Riots of 67. In addition to the song they have also created a website (detroitriots.burnrubberdetroit.com) where you will find ring tones, wallpapers and more information about the project that releases on December 26, 2009.
These tracks were sent to my e-mail just a few minutes ago and I feel like Christmas is already here. Although my neck is sore from nodding to these vicious beats, I couldn't ask for a better way to end my evening. I have yet to see these posted anywhere online, so I've decided to refrain from making them available for download just yet. Enough of me, enjoy the beats and be on the lookout for Random Axe, hopefully coming soon! EDIT: Had to bring this heat back to the top. I feel bad for anyone sleeping on Black Milk.

Here's a new Random Axe promo record from Sean Price and the incredible German production team, JR & PH7 on the boards. You may recognize this beat as it was on JR & PH7's latest release, The Standard, which featured fellow Random Axe members Guilty Simpson & Black Milk. If you like what you hear as far as the production is concerned, do yourself a favor by seeking out The Standard and copping that shit immediately. Be on the lookout for the upcoming Sean Price mixtape, Mic Tyson, dropping October 27th.
"The Way I Live," is the newest single off KRS-One & Buckshot's upcoming album, Survival Skills. The pair brought along legendary hip hop soul singer Mary J. Blige to drop some vocals over brand new Black Milk production. Show your support and buy the album on September 15th.
Black Milk comes through with the heat once again, this time lacing the duo No One (Dae One x Noni Spitz) for the single "We Do It", off their upcoming mixtape The Pre-Substance.
Ah, nothing like two dope Black Milk joints in the same week. "Set Go" is the newest addition to Black's catalog of incredible songs. All I want to know now is when the next album is dropping...
Black Milk shows his versatility once again on the boards and the m.i.c. with this brand new joint, "In The A.M." Black stays dropping nothing but quality music. Is it just me or does a Black Milk x Elzhi x Royce da 5'9" collaboration album sound just about a perfect?
Here's an exclusive new track from Detroit's Nametag, off his up coming new project "Classic Cadence Vol. 2", the track is entitled "Back On My Shit" and features Brooklyn emcee Skyzoo, along with international heavyweight Black Milk behind the boards!
Busy as ever both recording and touring the globe, Black Milk decided to give his fans a window into the life of one of hip-hop's rising stars with a new series called The Black Milk Broadcast.
In the first episode, watch Black work at Studio 1 alongside Alchemist, Guilty Simpson, and others, followed by a trip to Amsterdam where he kicked off his European tour for TRONIC last spring. In a final dramatic twist at the end, Black Milk is surrounded by reckless bikers, flying n-bombs, and drunken Dutchmen. Where's eLZhi?

After officially signing contracts for Duck Down Records, the dynamic trio of Black Milk, Sean Price, & Guilty Simpson present their new single off the upcoming Random Axe album.
In only a few years, producer/emcee Black Milk has quickly developed into one of the few hip hop artists who both carries an accomplished resume and is followed with widely-held optimism about what he can bring as one of the leaders of the modern hip hop movement.
Now 25 years old, Black (born Curtis Cross) earned his stripes both locally in his native Detroit and on a national level from his associations with Slum Village. After getting his first production credit for "What Is This" on SV's sophomore album "Trinity" in 2002, he produced much of the popular group's next two albums both individually and as part of the production team BR Gunna, with whom he also released the album "Dirty District, Vol. 2." It wasn't until his self-released debut solo album "Sound of the City" in 2005 did he begin to achieve some notoriety as an emcee, and it was off the strength of the album that he signed his first record deal with Fat Beats Records in 2006.
Upon the release of his "Popular Demand" album in March 2007, Black Milk instantly became one of underground hip hop ambassadors. In addition to becoming a go-to producer for commissioned beats on an independent level (he's placed beats on projects by Kidz in the Hall, Guilty Simpson, Strange Fruit Project, Genius/GZA, and many more), he's also worked with major label artists like Pharoahe Monch, Kardinal Offishall, and Busta Rhymes. He's also since released two albums on his own Music House imprint (Fat Ray's "The Set Up" and Black Milk presents "Caltroit"), produced nearly an entire album for Elzhi from Slum Village ("The Preface"), and produces and rhymes as a member of the group Random Axe (with Sean Price and Guilty Simpson) who have a full length album dropping soon.
His new album "Tronic" shows that Black has grown tremendously as a producer, as he's adopted more live instrumentation and is introducing more complex arrangement than his previous sample-heavy work. He also shows marked improvement as an emcee, and carries most of the album himself with only 3 guest verses on the entire album (from emcee royalty Pharoahe Monch, Royce Da 5'9", and Sean Price). Not even two years removed from his breakthrough release, Black Milk proves on "Tronic" that not only is he growing as an artist, but hip hop music as a genre still has room to grow.

Duck Down announces their most recent coup in the acquisition of Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, and Sean Price as the super group Random Axe.
Oh man it's almost here, this album is going to be a treat. I swear there hasn't been one Black Milk beat I didn't like in the last year and I don't expect this album to change that feeling whatsoever. And of course what true hip hop head wouldn't want to hear a whole album filled with new verbal assaults and punchlines from Sean Price & Guilty Simpson??
Stay tuned for previews that will hopefully find a home here soon!
Yet another dope cut from Black Milk entitled, "Mo Power". Black is currently overseas on tour with Elzhi, but still took time out to drop this internet-exclusive joint.
I'm a fiend for jazzy hip-hop beats so this will be on heavy rotation for the next few weeks in my stereo.
